Kuddos to Joe and Ellen

Joe and Ellen held their annual July 4th weekend party at Skyway, and the event was a success on NUMEROUS levels, but this year these two deserve special recognition for their fund raising efforts for St Jude's! Their 50/50 raffle raised a staggering $1,000 for this noble charity, and the work they do for ailing children. Everyone involved deserves a BIG TIP OF THE HAT for reaching deep, and the Grove News and Gazette extends a heart felt thanks to Joe and Ellen for their warm hospitality and hard work in making their party one of the BIG EVENTS at Skyway.

Special thanks is also extended to all the members of THE BAND that did such a fine job of keeping everyone entertained...we especially applaud the fine musical efforts of THE BAND's youngest member, Benjamin who has some serious talent for a his age! Well done folks, and thanks for the great tunes.

In Other News...rumor has it that a wonderful afternoon event (party) took place at the camp site of Big Don and his wife Barbara. Word on the street has it that the cheese bread was a culinary treat not to be missed!

Don't forget this coming weekend Skyway celebrates New Year's! Come by the club house for a great time and meet all your other fellow campers!

July 11-12
New Year's Eve-Hear the joyful tunes of Auld Lang Syne. Live dance party featuring the sounds of the "Mid-Night Image Band". This is an adult only party. Hay Wagon ride, arts and crafts for the kids earlier.

The Weekend of June 6-8, 2008 International Food Fair

First, congratulations to all the BIG WINNERS at last weekends Vegas Night at the Skyway which benefitted the St Jude Children's Hospital. A fabulous time was had by all, and the auction had some really great gift certificates from various local business interests in the area. The volunteer effort raised several hundred dollars towards the camp's 2008 funding raising goal for this fine organization.

Meanwhile, the buzz in and around the Grove concerns the upcoming International Food Festival where campers will show off their own culinary talents for an eager (and hungry) ground of appreciative diners. One thing is certain...no one will leave this social event hungry.

In news of a sporting type, there are whispers that the Paddle Courts are getting some serious use on Sunday Mornings...for those up early, stop by the courts around 9:30 to say hello, or to join in the fun and games.
